A 35-story condo tower billed as the Historic Core’s first high-rise tower in more than a century has reached its apex at 4th Street and Broadway.
Perla, which is being developed by SCG America, will feature 450 condominiums studio, one-, and two-bedroom dwellings, priced starting in the high $400,000s. Plans also call for 7,000 square feet of street-fronting commercial space and structured parking.
CallisonRTKL designed the tower, which features a setback above its podium level to maintain Broadway’s iconic mid-rise street wall. The building’s modern exterior gives way to an Art Deco Interior, designed by Hirsch Bender Associates.
The podium and roof levels will be capped with amenity decks, designed by Studio MLA.
Completion of Perla is expected in 2020.
The tower has more recently been joined by the construction of an 11-story, 315-room citizenM hotel across 4th Street and the adaptive reuse of an adjacent 1920s parking structure on Spring Street as a 180-room Cambria Hotel.
